At the French Residence in Rabat, Ambassador Philippe Lalliot championed a revitalized partnership between France and Morocco in front of a distinguished audience of over 1,500 guests.
The annual Bastille Day celebration at the French Residence in Rabat served as a platform for Ambassador Philippe Lalliot to emphasize the deepening cooperation between France and Morocco. The event drew high-level attendees, including Moroccan ministers and international diplomats, underscoring the significance of this bilateral relationship.
Among the guests were Mohamed Saad Berrada, Morocco’s Minister of National Education, Preschool, and Sports, who represented the government, and Amal El Fallah Seghrouchni, a key figure in Morocco’s digital transformation initiatives.
Reaffirming a modern and balanced partnership
In his speech, Ambassador Lalliot described the relationship between France and Morocco as a refounded partnership—one that is balanced, forward-looking, and designed to address both current and future challenges. He highlighted the mutual benefits of this collaboration, stating, “This is a partnership that serves our shared interests while embracing innovation and progress.”
He also stressed the human dimension of the alliance, noting that the friendship between the two nations is an inherited legacy that must be nurtured. “This bond is not static; it grows stronger with every shared effort,” he remarked.
Celebrating Morocco’s vision for the future
Lalliot praised Morocco’s proactive approach to development, referencing his recent visits to cities like Casablanca, Tangier, Marrakech, and Laâyoune, where he inaugurated a new Alliance Française branch. “From Rabat to these vibrant cities, Morocco is not just discussing the future—it is actively building it,” he observed.
The evening’s program included performances by the Moroccan Philharmonic Orchestra and DJ Retro Cassetta, blending cultural exchange with modern entertainment.
The event reflected the warmth and dynamism of Franco-Moroccan relations, reinforcing the idea that this partnership is not merely diplomatic but deeply rooted in shared aspirations.
