Uber expands its presence to Agadir and Tanger to boost Moroccan tourism

Strengthening its network across Maroc, Uber has officially launched its ride-hailing services in Tanger and Agadir. This strategic move is designed to support the country’s flourishing tourism industry and complements existing operations in Casablanca and Rabat. The expansion aligns with Morocco’s preparations for the 2030 World Cup, positioning the brand within one of the region’s top travel destinations.

Enhancing the visitor experience

As Maroc aims to attract 26 million annual visitors by 2030, Uber is positioning itself as a provider of safe, reliable, and convenient mobility. The goal is to improve the quality of travel for those exploring the kingdom, ensuring smooth transitions from hotels to major points of interest. By simplifying urban transit, the service seeks to meet the evolving needs of a growing international audience.

New mobility options in coastal hubs

With the introduction of services in Agadir and Tanger, the platform addresses the increasing need for dependable transportation solutions. Residents and tourists in these cities can now utilize the mobile application to book rides, choosing between the UberX and UberXL categories that are already familiar to users in Casablanca and Rabat.

The growth of the sector is backed by impressive data. Maroc reached a milestone of 19.8 million tourists in 2025, representing a 14% jump from the year before. Furthermore, tourism revenue climbed to 124 billion dirhams during the first eleven months of that year. The upward trend persisted into the first quarter of 2026, which saw 4.3 million arrivals, a 7% increase over the previous year’s figures.
