The timing of these events coincides with a series of deadly attacks on April 25, carried out by Islamist militants from the Group for the Support of Islam and Muslims (GSIM, affiliated with Al-Qaeda) in collaboration with the Azawad Liberation Front (FLA). These assaults targeted strategic military positions, further straining the nation’s fragile stability.
