Liverpool poised to secure yan diomande as psg faces transfer setback

Paris Saint-Germain, previously linked with a high-profile move for Yan Diomande, may now need to explore alternative targets. The highly sought-after Ivorian international has reportedly reached an agreement on personal terms with Liverpool. The remaining hurdle is securing a deal with RB Leipzig, who are understood to be demanding a substantial €120M transfer fee for the young talent.

Having arrived from Léganes just one year ago, all indications suggest that Yan Diomande will not be completing a second season with RB Leipzig. The Ivorian international, with 12 senior caps to his name, enjoyed an outstanding 2025-2026 campaign, contributing an impressive 13 goals and 10 assists across all competitions. Currently showcasing his abilities at the 2026 World Cup, Diomande is a target for several top clubs, most notably PSG and Liverpool.

Liverpool strikes agreement with Diomande

Despite reports of Luis Enrique’s personal involvement in PSG’s pursuit, the Spanish tactician’s efforts may not be enough. It has emerged that Yan Diomande has already agreed to personal terms with the Reds, who are actively seeking a successor to Mohamed Salah. The focus now shifts to negotiations with RB Leipzig, where the 19-year-old winger remains under contract until 2030. The German club is reportedly holding out for a transfer fee of €120M to sanction his departure.

“My agents are handling it”

Even Emerse Faé, the coach of the Côte d’Ivoire national team, faced questions regarding his player’s future. Following the Elephants’ 1-0 victory over Ecuador, Faé commented: “When we were in France for preparation, journalists were saying he would sign for PSG. Now, today, I arrive in the United States, and I’m told he’s going to sign for Liverpool. We’ll see. I think he is very focused on the World Cup first, and then he will make the best decision for the rest of his career.” The player himself redirected inquiries to his representatives, stating: “My agents are handling it, and I am more focused on my World Cup. That’s the most important thing. It’s not every time, it’s every four years, so I’m enjoying it to the fullest. The rest, we will see.”
