Tchad and Central African Republic bolster border security with joint force operations

Military authorities from Tchad and the Central African Republic are intensifying efforts to enhance border security in high-risk zones. A high-level working session, led by General Moubarak Abakar Nassour Hor, Commander of the Tchad-Central African Republic joint force, took place recently to assess recent collaborative operations.

Assessing joint missions and security challenges

Key military officials from both nations participated in the meeting, focusing on the outcomes of the “Al-Hamamia 1” and “Al-Hamamia 2” operations. Discussions also addressed persistent security concerns in specific border regions, where cross-border threats remain a critical issue.

Strengthening defense strategies

The gathering served as a platform to outline new measures aimed at reinforcing the presence of defense and security forces in vulnerable areas. These strategies aim to curb transnational threats and ensure stability along the shared border.

Introducing Operation Sentinelle

General Moubarak Abakar Nassour Hor endorsed the operational plan for “Operation Sentinelle,” proposed by the G5 cell. This initiative involves deploying multiple military units equipped with fixed and mobile surveillance posts. Its primary goals include monitoring suspicious activities, accelerating joint response times, and strengthening bilateral security cooperation.

The new mission is designed to safeguard communities residing near the border and address evolving security challenges in this pivotal region.
