Mali Morocco joint commission to boost strategic partnership

The long-standing partnership between Mali and Morocco is set to enter a new chapter as Bamako prepares to host the fourth session of the Great Joint Commission for Cooperation from July 21 to 24, 2026. This high-level meeting, announced by the Malian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, will bring together government officials, sector experts, and business leaders to chart the future of bilateral collaboration.

Over four intensive days, participants will review the progress of existing initiatives, assess tangible outcomes, and identify fresh opportunities to deepen cooperation in alignment with both nations’ evolving priorities. The event kicks off with technical discussions on July 21 and 22, followed by a dedicated business forum on July 23. This forum aims to foster economic ties, stimulate investment flows, and nurture value-creating projects between Malian and Moroccan enterprises.

The agenda spans a broad spectrum of strategic sectors, including trade, agriculture, infrastructure, mining, energy, healthcare, vocational training, higher education, security, culture, youth development, and sports. By addressing these key areas, the commission seeks to reinforce existing cooperation mechanisms while unlocking new avenues for collaboration with high transformative potential.

One of the session’s key deliverables will be the signing of several agreements and memoranda of understanding. These legal instruments are designed to solidify the cooperative framework and streamline the implementation of joint initiatives, ensuring long-term sustainability and impact.

For Bamako and Rabat, this gathering symbolizes a shared commitment to a partnership built on mutual trust, respect, and aligned national interests.
