From June 29 to July 5, 2026, Burkina Faso witnessed a series of pivotal government actions, institutional decisions and public events spanning security, economics, culture and sports.
Institutional reforms and national cohesion
Prime Minister Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Ouédraogo inaugurated the Orientation Council of the Black Peoples Institute (IPN-Farafina). This advisory body, comprising leaders from diverse backgrounds, will chart the institution’s strategic direction and champion indigenous values while elevating the global profile of Black communities.

The second ordinary session of the West African Monetary Union (UMOA) ministers wrapped up in the capital. Key reforms were adopted on veterinary medicines, financial stability and stronger community partnerships.
