Joint Chad-central african republic forces bolster border security measures
Military leaders from Chad and the Central African Republic are stepping up joint efforts to enhance security across their shared border regions. A high-level coordination meeting, led by Brigadier General Moubarak Abakar Nassour Hor, assessed recent field operations and outlined strategic improvements to counter cross-border threats.
Representatives from both nations’ armed forces attended the gathering, reviewing the outcomes of Operation Al-Hamamia 1 and Operation Al-Hammia 2, while identifying persistent security challenges in border communities. The discussions also focused on reinforcing defensive measures in high-risk areas vulnerable to illicit movements and armed incursions.
Key decisions included the approval of a new operational framework called Operation Sentinelle, proposed by the G5 Sahel joint force. This initiative will deploy additional military units equipped with fixed and mobile surveillance outposts along strategic border sectors. The plan aims to tighten monitoring of suspicious activities, accelerate joint response times, and strengthen bilateral security cooperation between Chad and the Central African Republic.
Brigadier General Moubarak Abakar Nassour Hor, Commander of the Chad-CAR joint force, emphasized that these measures are crucial for safeguarding civilian populations in frontier zones and addressing evolving security threats in this critical region.
