Hundreds of boko haram captives freed in Nigeria but details remain murky
Hundreds of individuals abducted months earlier by a Boko Haram faction in Ngoshe, located in the northeastern state of Borno, Nigeria, have been released, according to a statement from the Nigerian army on Sunday, 7 June. In a video released by the military, frightened women and children can be seen transported in vans or pickup trucks at night, then gathered under trees on the ground, surrounded by soldiers. The number of freed captives ranges from 360 to nearly 420, depending on the source.
