Alliance and stability with Bahrain
During his meeting with Bahraini Foreign Minister Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, discussions centered on coordinating efforts to ensure peace and stability in the Arab world.
The two diplomats reviewed the evolution of the deep historical ties linking Rabat and Manama, exploring new avenues for collaboration in sectors of mutual interest, in line with guidelines set by Morocco’s Foreign Ministry.
Also present at the working session were Morocco’s ambassador to Jordan, Fouad Akhrif, the kingdom’s permanent representative to the Arab League, Mohamed Aït Ouali, and the director of Maghreb affairs at the ministry, Khalid Bencheikh.
Upcoming joint commission with Jordan
Mr. Bourita also met with Jordan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ayman Safadi. The main focus of their conversation was preparing the sixth session of the Moroccan-Jordanian High Joint Commission, coordinated by Jordan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates and scheduled for later this year. Both ministers agreed on the need to develop an ambitious agenda to elevate bilateral relations to a higher strategic level.
With both Jordan and Bahrain, represented by their respective foreign ministries, the Moroccan official shared the view that it is urgent to strengthen political consultation mechanisms to address the current complex geopolitical situation.
Activity within the Arab League
These bilateral meetings followed Bourita’s participation in the consultative meeting of Arab foreign ministers and the sessions of the 165th ordinary period of the Arab League Council, reinforcing Morocco’s active role in regional multilateral dialogue.
