At a Pastef-Les Patriotes press conference, deputy Amadou Ba presented what he called the ‘full truth’ regarding alleged phone conversations between Ousmane Sonko and Aminata Touré during the period when the current Prime Minister, Bassirou Diomaye Faye, was incarcerated. This revelation comes amid Pastef’s defense of the government’s financial management amid mounting controversy.
According to Ba, Aminata Touré reportedly expressed harsh criticism of Bassirou Diomaye Faye during these exchanges. ‘Diomaye is incapable of leading this country. If you leave him in charge, he won’t last two years,’ she allegedly told Sonko, as recounted by the Pastef deputy.
Ba strongly condemned what he views as an attempt by Aminata Touré to rewrite history and manipulate past events to align with shifting political dynamics. He argued that her current stance contradicts these earlier remarks, accusing her of changing her narrative based on convenience rather than consistency.
Amid escalating tensions between the two factions, Ba urged restraint over confrontation. ‘She seeks to provoke violence, but we will not take the bait,’ he declared, reaffirming Pastef’s commitment to political dialogue over direct clashes.
