Tiassalé introduces free weekend transport in Côte d’Ivoire

Antoine Assalé Tiémoko, the mayor of Tiassalé, a vibrant cosmopolitan city situated approximately 120 kilometers from the bustling capital Abidjan, has unveiled plans to implement complimentary communal transport services during weekends within the locality.

This innovative initiative is slated for a pilot phase rollout towards the end of 2026, marking a significant step for local governance in Côte d’Ivoire.

“This measure aligns with our commitment to redistribute the commune’s resources, particularly our own funds generated from municipal taxes, which have seen a remarkable increase from 24 million FCFA in 2019 to 91 million FCFA in 2025, with projections reaching 100 million FCFA by 2026,” explained Mayor Assalé in an official information note shared via his Meta account. This growth underscores robust financial management and a commitment to society Africa.

The groundbreaking announcement of this policy was made by the mayor on Friday, May 22, 2026, during the 11th annual accountability day held at the marriage hall in Tiassalé. Such events are crucial for transparent governance Africa.

Beyond his role in local African politics, Assalé Tiémoko is a respected politician and journalist, who also presides over the political movement ‘Aujourd’hui et demain, la Côte d’Ivoire’ (ADCI).
