Tchad suspends four dairy brands over food safety concerns
the ministry of commerce has ordered the immediate removal from the market of several lots of yaourt produced in N’Djamena, following a series of quality control checks that revealed serious non-compliance with food safety standards.
signed by the minister of commerce and industry dr guibolo fanga mathieu, the department informed that the centre for control of quality of foodstuffs (cecoda) conducted verification missions from june 1 to june 5, 2026, at several units of production of yaourt in the capital.
according to reports, the analyses revealed a microbiological and physicochemical quality that did not meet standards; major shortcomings in hygiene rules, conservation, and food safety protocols.
