Maimouna Sène urges Ousmane Sonko to bring evidence to court

Maimouna Sène, a leading member of the National Executive Secretariat of the Alliance Pour la République (APR), has publicly challenged Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko regarding his approach to governance and legal accountability. She insisted that if the Prime Minister holds incriminating evidence, he must follow formal legal channels rather than relying on public statements.

During her intervention, the former parliamentarian expressed her disapproval of what she describes as “diversionary tactics” and “judicial populism.” Sène emphasized that the process of accountability is a fundamental institutional obligation and should not be exploited as a tool for political marketing.

Assessment of current governance

Sène further argued that the focus of the authorities should remain fixed on the socio-economic difficulties facing the citizens of Sénégal. She pointed to critical issues such as the rising cost of living, the necessity for job creation, and the urgent need for economic recovery as the true priorities for the administration.

Addressing the leader of Pastef directly, she remarked, “If you have proof, take it to the courts and permit the judiciary to carry out its duties in a calm and professional environment.”

The APR official concluded by calling on the Prime Minister to favor tangible results over rhetoric. She also stressed the importance of demonstrating exemplary behavior in the management of the country’s public resources and state affairs.
