Gabon Celebrates 105 Years of Communist Party of China, Embarks on New Era of Cooperation

As the People’s Republic of China celebrates its 105th anniversary, the Embassy of China in Gabon hosted a major press conference to unveil the trajectory of this influential organization. The diplomats shed light on the historical journey of the Communist Party of China (CPC), which has profoundly shaped the fate of its people. In just a few decades, China has accomplished a remarkable industrialization miracle, achieving rapid economic growth and sustainable social stability.

The CPC’s functioning is crucial to understanding contemporary China. This was emphasized by Xiaole Zhu, Minister-Counselor at the Embassy. ‘In 105 years, the Communist Party of China, which initially had only a handful of members, has become the world’s first ruling party, boasting over 100 million members,’ he stated during his presentation.

The CPC’s ascent is rooted in its unique symbiosis with the population. The party draws strength from its grassroots base and an adaptive theoretical system that incorporates Marxist principles into real-world changing circumstances. Moreover, a strict discipline is maintained internally to preserve the party’s vitality. A relentless fight against corruption and a reinforcement of discipline have eliminated potential risks. As Ambassador Zhou Ping summarized, ‘To make good steel, one needs solid tools themselves.’

The CPC’s international role is that of a builder of world peace and a contributor to global development. Through the implementation of its five-year plans, China maintains around 30% contribution to global growth. Parallel initiatives, such as the Belt and Road Initiative, foster extended international cooperation and generate hundreds of thousands of jobs.

This celebration has also consolidated bilateral ties with Libreville. The Ambassador concluded the event by reaffirming that ‘China and Gabon are traditional partners of trust.’
