Fbi commends Morocco’s crucial role in 2026 world cup security

Christopher Raia, the Deputy Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), recently visited the International Police Cooperation Center (IPCC). This crucial hub brings together law enforcement representatives and security services from all nations involved in safeguarding the upcoming 2026 World Cup.

His visit formed an integral part of the extensive, high-level security framework established for all matches of the global tournament. The senior American official held a dedicated meeting with the Moroccan delegation, specifically representatives from the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) and the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DGST).

During this meeting, Christopher Raia conveyed his profound gratitude for Morocco’s active involvement in the event’s security efforts and its significant contributions across all stages of the tournament. He underscored the FBI’s view of the Kingdom as an exceptionally reliable partner, possessing internationally acclaimed expertise and credibility in security matters.

Furthermore, the FBI Deputy Director delivered an address to all foreign security service representatives gathered at the IPCC. In his remarks, he emphasized the critical importance of international partnership and multilateral cooperation, particularly regarding intelligence sharing, which forms the backbone of the security apparatus for the World Cup, co-hosted by the United States.

Raia also highlighted the immense challenge of securing 78 matches over a span of nearly two weeks. He stressed that achieving this ambitious objective would be utterly unattainable without robust international collaboration.

Christopher Raia observed a noticeable increase in the number of threats successfully thwarted by American authorities within their own borders. He attributed this positive development directly to the precise intelligence shared and the unwavering support provided by partner nations, including Morocco, reinforcing the value of global security cooperation.
