Ministry issues strict security guidelines ahead of Tabaski festivities

The Ministry of Public Security and Immigration, led by General Ali Ahmat Aghabache, has issued urgent directives to security forces to intensify vigilance across public and religious sites during this year’s Tabaski celebrations.

In an official communiqué dated May 25, 2026, the minister called for comprehensive security protocols to be implemented without delay. The measures target mosques, churches, and other places of worship, as well as bustling markets, government buildings, and all public gathering spaces throughout the holiday period.

The directive underscores the necessity of strict adherence to security protocols to ensure public safety during one of the most significant Muslim festivals. Tabaski, also known as Eid al-Adha, is traditionally marked by large communal prayers, animal sacrifices, and widespread family and community gatherings—events that draw massive crowds to religious and commercial hubs.
