Cameroon civil service to fill 2,305 positions in 2026 recruitment drive

The government has released several official orders announcing entrance exams, direct recruitment, professional competitions, and selection tests to fill these vacancies.

For the 2026 fiscal year, the Cameroonian civil service is opening a total of 2,305 posts across various ministries. Minister of Public Service and Administrative Reform, Joseph LE, initiated the recruitment process on June 4 by publishing the participation modalities through 36 orders launching the competitions. In the related information note, the minister details the distribution of available positions.

First, for standard recruitment, 890 slots are available: 470 via direct competitions for civil servants in financial administration, agriculture, mining and geology, civil engineering, livestock and marine fisheries, telecommunications, and public health; 100 slots through training competitions at the National Institute of Youth and Sports (INJS) and the National Centers for Youth and Sports (CENAJES); 220 slots through training competitions at the National School of Administration and Magistracy (ENAM); and 100 slots via selection tests.

Next, for special recruitment decided by the President of the Republic in the health and education sectors, 1,200 positions are to be filled: 1,000 for independent auditors at ENS and ENSET institutions, and 200 for medical specialists, complementing 920 other posts opened under health personnel recruitments on April 7 and 10, 2026. For independent auditors, the minister specifies that when submitting applications, each candidate will choose the school where they wish to work and will take the exam in the regional center hosting that school.

Finally, 215 posts are to be filled through professional competitions.

It is worth noting that the number of positions for the 2026 fiscal year represents a decrease of 555 posts compared to 2025, when the government opened competitions for 2,860 slots.
