Algeria-Niger ties strengthen with new power plant project milestone
Algeria’s Prime Minister, Sifi Ghrieb, concluded a high-level meeting in Niamey today with Niger’s President, General Abdourahamane Tiani. The visit underscored the deepening ties between the two nations, with Ghrieb conveying warm greetings from Algeria’s President, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, and reaffirming Algeria’s commitment to deepening solidarity and cooperation.
Power plant project advances ahead of schedule
The discussions centered on reviewing the full spectrum of bilateral cooperation, assessing progress from President Tiani’s state visit to Algeria in February, and evaluating outcomes from the second session of the Algeria-Niger Joint High Commission held in Niamey last March. Key achievements, including the accelerated completion of a new power plant project, were highlighted as a testament to the strong leadership and shared vision of both presidents.
President Tiani praised President Tebboune’s dedication to bilateral ties, noting that the rapid execution of the power plant project exemplifies the robust partnership between the two countries. Both leaders emphasized their resolve to sustain this momentum, aiming to build a resilient and diversified partnership that aligns with the shared aspirations of their peoples for greater integration, solidarity, and development.
