Togo’s leader meets Ecobank chairman to discuss growth and financial integration

On June 3, President Faure Essozimna Gnassingbé of Togo welcomed the Chairman of the Board of Ecobank Transnational Incorporated, Papa Madiaw Ndiaye, for a strategic discussion in Lomé. The meeting centered on the bank’s annual shareholder assembly results and future growth plans for this leading pan-African financial institution.

Financial achievements and future outlook shared with Togolese authorities

During the exchange, the Ecobank chairman presented the 2025 financial performance along with the group’s strategic roadmap. He emphasized the significance of maintaining transparency with Togolese leadership, highlighting a long-standing tradition of accountability.

“Our annual general assembly concluded today, where we reviewed our 2025 financial results and outlined our strategic vision,” he explained. “Given Togo’s special status to our group, it is essential that we report directly to the President of the Council on our progress and shareholder deliberations.”
