Tarik Hamane takes helm of AMEPA for four-year term
Major governance reshuffle at Morocco’s water sector association
The recent general assembly marked a pivotal moment for the water and sanitation sector in Morocco, with delegates electing a fresh 27-member administrative council and a 12-member executive board. These representatives span the entire spectrum of industry stakeholders, from public entities to private operators, ensuring balanced representation across the sector.
Statutory reforms to modernize water management
During the extraordinary general meeting, delegates reviewed and approved the association’s financial and ethical reports. A key outcome was the adoption of amendments to the AMEPA statutes, designed to streamline operations in response to evolving water industry trends. These changes aim to bolster industrial sovereignty and enhance the association’s strategic impact in shaping the future of Morocco’s water infrastructure.
Established in 1997, AMEPA now unites over 95 active members, including public and private operators, regional multiservice companies, concession holders, and specialized engineering firms focused on potable water and sanitation.
Vision for a unified and competitive water sector
Under this renewed governance, AMEPA is positioning itself to build a more cohesive and resilient ecosystem. The association’s leadership is committed to elevating Morocco’s water industry, engineering prowess, and technical expertise to global standards. This strategic direction seeks to strengthen national competitiveness while fostering collaboration at regional and international levels.
