Stronger ties between Burkina Faso and Italy at 80th Italian Republic anniversary
Burkina Faso and Italy have underscored the depth of their friendship and cooperation during the 80th anniversary of the Italian Republic. The evening event, hosted by the Italian Embassy in Ouagadougou on June 2, 2026, brought together Burkinabe officials, diplomats, and Italian nationals to mark the occasion.
Representing the Burkinabe government, Deputy Foreign Minister Bêbgnasgnan Stella Eldine Kabré/Kaboré attended the gathering, which was filled with moments of reflection, camaraderie, and celebration of the historic ties between the two nations.

Italian Ambassador to Burkina Faso, Gabriele Di Muzio, highlighted the strong bilateral cooperation, particularly through initiatives led by Italy’s development cooperation agency. He emphasized his country’s commitment to supporting Burkina Faso in stabilization efforts, humanitarian aid, and socioeconomic development. « Our mission here is rooted in serving the Burkinabe people. We are committed to a lasting partnership built on shared values and mutual respect », he stated.

On behalf of Burkinabe authorities, Minister Kabré/Kaboré conveyed the President of Faso’s greetings and those of the Burkinabe people to the Italian community. She praised the vitality of a cooperation founded on solidarity, mutual trust, and a shared drive to foster development.
She also highlighted the vast investment opportunities Burkina Faso offers across key sectors. The Deputy Minister called on Italian economic operators to seize the incentives provided by the Burkinabe government to deepen economic exchanges and business partnerships between the two countries.
