Morocco shares anti-corruption strategies with Chad during Rabat talks

In a high-level meeting held on Thursday in Rabat, Morocco’s top prosecutor at the Court of Cassation and head of the Public Prosecution, Hicham Balaoui, engaged in constructive discussions with Chad’s Inspector General of the Independent Anti-Corruption Authority, Ousmane Abderamane Djougourou. The session formed part of an official working visit aimed at exploring Morocco’s proven methods in preventing and combating corruption.

During the gathering, Mr Balaoui outlined the core pillars of Morocco’s anti-corruption framework, highlighting the robust legal and institutional architecture that underpins its efforts, alongside the strategic criminal policies implemented by the Public Prosecution Office. The talks also delved into comparative best practices, fostering an exchange of insights that could strengthen Chad’s own governance reforms.

The visiting Chadian delegation gained first-hand knowledge of several groundbreaking initiatives spearheaded by the Public Prosecution Office. These include a dedicated hotline for reporting corruption and embezzlement, as well as the innovative digital platform e-TABLIGH. This secure online tool empowers citizens to file complaints about suspected corrupt acts while ensuring the confidentiality and integrity of each submission through cutting-edge encryption technologies.
