Morocco shares anti-corruption expertise with Chad in Rabat talks

The Moroccan Attorney General at the Court of Cassation and Head of the Public Prosecution, Hicham Balaoui, engaged in a working session on Thursday, July 9, in Rabat, with Chad’s Inspector General of the Independent Anti-Corruption Authority, Ousmane Abderamane Djougourou. This meeting formed part of a working visit aimed at exploring Morocco’s proven strategies in preventing and combating corruption.

Morocco’s anti-corruption framework highlighted

During the discussion, Hicham Balaoui outlined the core pillars of Morocco’s anti-corruption system. He emphasized the legal and institutional framework underpinning the country’s approach, as well as the penal policy spearheaded by the Public Prosecution in this critical area. The talks also delved into comparative best practices for tackling corruption, ensuring a robust exchange of ideas and methodologies.

Chadian delegation explores digital tools for transparency

The visiting Chadian delegation gained firsthand insight into several initiatives led by the Public Prosecution. Among these was a dedicated hotline for reporting corruption and embezzlement, alongside the e-TABLIGH digital platform. Designed to empower citizens, this platform enables the secure reporting of suspected corrupt acts through cutting-edge digital technologies, ensuring confidentiality and efficiency in handling complaints.
