Morocco-Mauritania military delegation strengthens strategic ties in Nouakchott
The Inspector General of Morocco’s Royal Armed Forces (FAR), General Mohammed Berrid, led a high-level military delegation to Nouakchott for a working visit, where he met with Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghezouani.
During the visit, General Berrid also held discussions with Mauritanian Defense Minister Hanana Ould Sidi at the Ministry of Defense headquarters. The minister presented him with the Commander grade of the National Order of Merit, awarded by the Mauritanian Head of State.
Later in the day, General Berrid and Mauritania’s Chief of Staff co-chaired the sixth session of the Joint Military Commission, where both sides reviewed the robust progress in bilateral defense collaboration.
Senior military officials from both nations highlighted the tangible benefits of this strategic partnership, describing it as a model for regional cooperation in military affairs.
