Mali’s africa corps retreat leaves junta in disarray after tuareg fighters seize Kidal

In a striking display of tactical prowess, videos circulating across social platforms depict armed Tuareg fighters from the Azawad Liberation Front (FLA) and the Group for the Support of Islam and Muslims (JNIM) parading on abandoned armored vehicles left behind by fleeing Russian mercenaries. Just 48 hours after seizing control of Kidal, a key northern city in Mali, the 400-strong contingent of Africa Corps (formerly Wagner) executed a rapid withdrawal, reportedly under escort. The FLA took to X (formerly Twitter) to confirm a «secure exit agreement» had been reached between their forces and elements of Africa Corps, ensuring the mercenaries’ safe departure from Kidal.
