The Government of Mali has launched a bold initiative to combat terrorism by offering substantial financial rewards for information leading to the capture or elimination of seven high-profile terrorist commanders operating across the Sahel region.
According to an official statement from the Ministry of Security, « rewards will be granted to individuals who provide verifiable and actionable intelligence that results in the apprehension or neutralization of the specified fugitives. » The bounties range from 500 million to 2 billion West African CFA francs, reflecting the severity of the threat these individuals pose.
Among those targeted are Iyad Ag Ghali, a notorious militant leader with a 2 billion FCFA bounty, followed by Hamadoun Hassan Sankaré, also known as Amadou Kouffa (1.5 billion FCFA), and Abdoulaye Mahamadou Bekaye Diallo, alias Doulé Bib de Nampala (1.5 billion FCFA). Another key figure, Alghabass Ag Intallah, carries a 1 billion FCFA reward.
Security authorities emphasize that these individuals are prime suspects in masterminding and executing attacks that have destabilized Mali’s national security, resulting in significant loss of life and property. The government urges citizens to remain vigilant and report any credible leads to defense and security forces.
This unprecedented move underscores Mali’s commitment to dismantling terrorist networks and restoring stability in a region plagued by extremist violence.
