Mali army claims heavy losses inflicted on armed groups in northern operations

The Malian Armed Forces (FAMA) announced on Thursday that coordinated military operations in the northern regions of Anfif and Tabrachat resulted in the elimination of nearly a hundred armed fighters. These operations were conducted in partnership with allied forces, targeting militants from the Group for the Support of Islam and Muslims (JNIM) and the Azawad Liberation Front (FLA).

According to the official statement, the operations included 13 airstrikes that successfully destroyed six armored vehicles and one pick-up truck. The military emphasized that these strikes were part of an ongoing counterterrorism campaign across multiple regions, reaffirming its commitment to maintaining disciplined and resolute operations alongside its partners.

The African Corps also shared details on X, reporting the destruction and burning of numerous militant vehicles. Additionally, their drone successfully targeted a militant vehicle transporting ammunition and military equipment, further disrupting insurgent logistics.

The Russian Africa Corps confirmed the success of these joint operations, describing them as highly effective. They reiterated their ongoing support for the Malian army, vowing to continue striking militant positions and seizing their equipment to weaken their operational capacity.
