Ivorian PM rallies investors at PND 2026-2030 consultative forum in Abidjan
Abidjan, July 9, 2026 – The second day of the National Development Plan (PND) 2026-2030 Consultative Group, dedicated to investors, was inaugurated by Prime Minister Robert Beugré Mambé at the Sofitel Hôtel Ivoire in Abidjan.
The Prime Minister opened the session by highlighting the pivotal role of private investment in driving Côte d’Ivoire’s ambitious growth agenda. “Today marks another milestone in our consultative process, focused on fostering investment, enterprise, and value creation. Our goal is clear: to mobilize the private sector to fund the implementation of this transformative development strategy,” he stated. He expressed strong satisfaction at the turnout, noting that over 700 investors from allied nations had traveled to Abidjan to participate in the event.
The gathering brought together business leaders, investors, and representatives from the private sector, all of whom had converged in Abidjan to engage in strategic discussions. The Prime Minister emphasized that this forum serves as a vital platform for dialogue between the government and private stakeholders, fostering a shared vision for the nation’s economic future.
Addressing the audience, he underscored the critical role investors play in Côte d’Ivoire’s economic transformation. “Your commitment alongside us reflects the confidence you place in our nation’s economic potential and growth prospects. As key partners, you are instrumental in turning our vision into reality—a vision of a more competitive economy with robust job creation. The success of this endeavor hinges on your willingness to invest,” he remarked.
The Prime Minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to positioning the private sector as the backbone of Côte d’Ivoire’s economic transformation. He reassured investors of the country’s economic resilience, citing its ability to adapt amid global challenges. With an average growth rate of 6.5% over recent years, Côte d’Ivoire stands out as one of Africa’s most dynamic economies.
“Today, you are presented with a market brimming with opportunities,” he declared. “The activities of this day are designed to accelerate investments in key sectors outlined in the PND 2026-2030, including industrialization and local processing of raw materials to enhance value addition, the development of critical infrastructure such as transport, digital technology, and logistics to bolster competitiveness and appeal, as well as investments in human capital, innovation, and essential services that will drive a more productive and inclusive economy.”
He also recounted the success of the first day of the consultative group, which focused on institutional partners and the presentation of Côte d’Ivoire’s development strategy, drawing over 3,000 participants from 49 countries, including Côte d’Ivoire itself.
In a show of solidarity, leaders from the private sector took the floor to voice their support for Côte d’Ivoire’s development vision. Ahmed Cissé, President of the General Confederation of Enterprises of Côte d’Ivoire (CGECI), Mehdi Tazi, President of the Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM), and Mohamed Gouled, Vice President of the International Finance Corporation (IFC), collectively pledged their readiness to contribute to the PND 2026-2030 through substantial financial commitments.
