Ivoirian government pushes private sector investment at 2026 development forum

Abidjan, July 9, 2026 — The second day of the National Development Plan (PND) 2026-2030 Consultative Group, dedicated to investors, kicked off today in Abidjan under the leadership of Prime Minister Robert Beugré Mambé. Hosted at the Sofitel Hôtel Ivoire, this high-level gathering brought together over 700 private sector representatives from friendly nations to explore new avenues for economic collaboration.

The Prime Minister emphasized the critical role of private investment in driving Côte d’Ivoire’s development ambitions. “This pivotal moment marks a new chapter in our engagement with the private sector, focusing on enterprise, value creation, and sustainable growth. Your presence here today reflects the confidence you place in our economic vision and its potential. Together, we can unlock unprecedented opportunities for job creation and economic competitiveness,” he declared.

In a room filled with industry leaders, investors, and private sector delegates, the Head of Government highlighted the forum as a unique platform for dialogue and shared vision. “Your commitment is instrumental in transforming Côte d’Ivoire into a more dynamic and resilient economy. We have designed this plan with one goal in mind: to make the private sector the engine of our economic transformation,” he stated.

The Prime Minister underscored Côte d’Ivoire’s economic resilience, citing an average growth rate of 6.5% over recent years despite global uncertainties. “This is a market brimming with potential, and today’s discussions will accelerate investments in key sectors outlined in the PND 2026-2030. From industrialization and local raw material processing to infrastructure development—transport, digital, and logistics—we are creating an ecosystem that fosters productivity, innovation, and inclusivity,” he added.

Earlier this week, the first day of the forum, focused on institutional partners and development strategy presentations, drew over 3,000 participants from 49 countries, including Côte d’Ivoire. The Prime Minister’s vision for economic transformation resonated strongly with attendees, setting the stage for today’s investor-focused sessions.

In a show of unwavering support, leaders from Côte d’Ivoire’s General Confederation of Enterprises (CGECI), France’s MEDEF Africa Committee, Morocco’s General Confederation of Enterprises (CGEM), and the International Finance Corporation (IFC) reaffirmed their commitment to Côte d’Ivoire’s development agenda. “We are fully prepared to contribute through substantial financial commitments, ensuring the successful implementation of the PND 2026-2030,” they affirmed.
