Abidjan, July 9, 2026 — The second day of the National Development Plan (PND) 2026-2030 Consultative Group, dedicated to investors, kicked off today in Abidjan at the Sofitel Hôtel Ivoire. The event was led by Prime Minister Robert Beugré Mambé, who emphasized the critical role of private investment in driving Côte d’Ivoire’s economic ambitions.

Mobilizing private capital for national growth

In his opening remarks, the Prime Minister highlighted the significance of the gathering, noting that over 700 investors from friendly nations had already registered to participate. « This session marks another milestone in our engagement with the private sector, focusing on investment, entrepreneurship, and value creation, » he explained. « Together, we aim to unlock the financial resources essential for translating our development vision into reality. »

The event brought together business leaders, investors, and private sector representatives who traveled to Abidjan to discuss strategies for enhancing Côte d’Ivoire’s economic competitiveness. Prime Minister Mambé underscored the importance of collaboration, stating, « Your commitment to this initiative reflects your confidence in Côte d’Ivoire’s economic potential and growth prospects. As key partners, your investments will be instrumental in building a more dynamic and job-creating economy. »

A private-sector-led economic transformation

The government has made a strategic decision to position the private sector as the driving force behind Côte d’Ivoire’s economic transformation. The Prime Minister reassured investors of the country’s economic resilience, pointing to an average growth rate of 6.5% over recent years—a testament to its ability to adapt to global challenges. « Côte d’Ivoire stands among Africa’s most dynamic economies, » he noted. « This is a market brimming with opportunities, and today’s discussions will help accelerate investments in high-priority sectors. »

Key sectors poised for expansion

During the session, Prime Minister Mambé outlined the sectors identified for accelerated investment under the PND 2026-2030. These include:

  • Industrialization and local processing: Enhancing the value of raw materials to boost economic output.
  • Strategic infrastructure: Expanding transport, digital, and logistics networks to strengthen competitiveness and economic attractiveness.
  • Human capital and innovation: Investing in education, skills development, and services to foster a more productive and inclusive economy.

The Prime Minister also recalled that the first day of the Consultative Group, which focused on institutional partners and the presentation of Côte d’Ivoire’s development strategy, attracted over 3,000 participants from 49 countries, including Côte d’Ivoire.

Investor confidence and commitments

In a show of strong support, representatives from Côte d’Ivoire’s private sector and international business organizations reaffirmed their alignment with the government’s vision. Ahmed Cissé, President of the General Confederation of Enterprises of Côte d’Ivoire (CGECI), Mehdi Tazi, President of the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM), and Mohamed Gouled, Vice-President of the International Finance Corporation (IFC), all emphasized their readiness to contribute financially to the PND 2026-2030 through substantial commitments.
