The recruits, chosen after a rigorous merit-based selection process, fall into four distinct skills categories. Their integration is expected to help alleviate the shortage of healthcare personnel in public facilities across the country.

Funding and objectives of the initiative

Backed by the Islamic Development Bank (IDB), the “Bridging the Gaps” program is designed to address critical staffing gaps in Benin’s health sector. By bringing in these young professionals, authorities aim to improve access to care and strengthen the overall capacity of public health structures.

Orientation sessions ahead of deployment

Before taking up their respective posts, the selected agents will participate in information and orientation sessions. These meetings are intended to prepare them for their new responsibilities. The ministry will later announce the schedule for these welcome and integration activities.
