Tchad digitalises freight transport with bnft training
N’Djamena hosts transformative digital freight training
The National Bureau of Land Freight (BNFT) has successfully wrapped up a three-day intensive training program in N’Djamena focused on digitalizing land freight services. Held at the Kempinski Hotel N’Djamena, the workshop brought together controllers and representatives from N’Djamena and Mayo-Kebbi regions to explore cutting-edge digital tools designed to revolutionize Chad’s road transport sector.
Key digital tools for freight management
The closing ceremony, led by Brahim Mahamat Adoum, chair of the steering committee, highlighted the intensive training modules covering essential digital solutions. Participants delved into digital interfaces, freight declarations, transporter management, system configuration, and agency setup. These innovations promise to streamline administrative processes and enhance real-time monitoring of freight operations across Chad.
Modernization drive for Chad’s transport sector
Saleh Youssouf Erda, Director General of the steering committee, emphasized that this initiative aligns with Chad’s broader digital transformation agenda. The new e-BNFT platform eliminates paper-based processes, enabling instant issuance and verification of critical documents such as the Lettre de Voiture Obligatoire (LVO) and Taxe à l’Essieu (TAE). This seamless, contactless system ensures secure and efficient document handling via computers or mobile devices.
Beyond operational efficiency, the platform strengthens state revenue collection and provides reliable data for economic planning. Erda stressed that this transition supports the national modernization vision championed by President Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno, positioning Chad at the forefront of digital governance in the transport sector.
Call for continuous adoption and training
The workshop concluded with a strong appeal to participants to apply their newly acquired skills and share knowledge with colleagues. The goal is to ensure widespread adoption of the e-BNFT platform, fostering a new era of transparency and efficiency in Chad’s land freight industry.
