Psg’s summer transfer window heats up with a russian midfield target

Fresh off their triumphant Champions League victory, Paris Saint-Germain is already making significant moves behind the scenes to bolster their squad. The club appears poised to secure its first major summer signing, with reports indicating a deal for Russian talent Aleksey Batrakov, valued at approximately €25 million, is nearing completion.

Following their impressive Champions League final win against Arsenal, PSG has swiftly shifted its focus to the upcoming season. A primary objective in the transfer market is to inject fresh energy into a formidable squad without overhauling its core. In line with this strategy, the Parisian project continues its commitment to investing in promising young talents. It is within this framework that Aleksey Batrakov now appears on the verge of joining PSG. Dmitry Cheltsov, an agent with deep knowledge of the Russian football market, suggests a 95% probability that the offensive midfielder from Lokomotiv Moscow will soon arrive in the French capital.

Batrakov’s move to PSG seemingly imminent

Batrakov is almost certainly (95%) heading to Paris. Officials from both PSG and Lokomotiv have already engaged in numerous phone discussions. This week, which concludes today, will see Campos travel to Moscow in an effort to finalize the transfer. For this deal to fall through, it would require an unforeseen major event. The transfer fee is projected to be €25 million, with a salary around €5 or €6 million annually. The transfer is expected to be completed within the next two weeks,” Cheltsov revealed during an appearance on the European Review program.

“Batrakov is almost certain to join PSG”

Andrey Nagibin, who coached Aleksey Batrakov during his time with the Lokomotiv Moscow youth teams, has also confirmed the ongoing discussions with PSG. “To my understanding, negotiations with PSG are indeed progressing. He undoubtedly possesses the qualities necessary to compete at the highest level. However, many aspects will need to change. The standard of the French championship surpasses that of Russia. I believe numerous factors must align for Batrakov to secure a starting position. Yet, we have the example of Safonov: he arrived as a backup goalkeeper, seized his opportunity, and became a regular starter. I recently met with Alexey, and we spoke about this; he is eager to test himself at PSG. I wished him the best of luck and hope everything goes smoothly,” Nagibin shared in a recent interview.
