Morocco condemns flag desecration in France after World Cup match
The Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco in France has filed a formal complaint with French authorities following incidents of flag desecration and verbal attacks against Moroccan supporters in Aubervilliers. These events occurred immediately after the Morocco-Canada World Cup 2026 match.
In an official statement released on Monday, the Embassy strongly condemned the actions, describing them as “deeply serious and unacceptable.” The statement emphasized that multiple verified accounts and documented evidence confirmed the Moroccan flag was torn down, set on fire, and shredded in public while individuals chanted slogans tied to Algerian origins.
