The club’s urgency contrasts sharply with the initial buzz that surrounded the player’s potential move to Italy, where AS Roma had identified him as the priority target under manager Gian Piero Gasperini.
Italian pundits have wasted no time in criticizing the unfolding situation. Journalist Roberto Pruzzo expressed his frustration on air, arguing that such negotiations rarely end well: “Greenwood? This kind of deal always ends badly. We don’t even know if the player truly wants to join Roma, and in the end, he ends up at Fenerbahçe. It’s never the case that we say, ‘This is the player we want,’ and then sign him two hours later.”
His colleague Fernando Orsi went further, questioning Greenwood’s reliability: “Football doesn’t stop for Greenwood. He doesn’t strike me as a trustworthy figure, and with half that transfer fee, we could find someone who perfectly matches Gasperini’s vision. The World Cup is a showcase for players.”

Moreira’s stock has soared following his performances in the World Cup, though Marcacci cautioned that other names like Charles Nusa, Aleksandar Garnacho, and Davide Tresoldi could also be in the mix.
