Mali’s security forces receive significant logistical boost
In a significant move to bolster operational readiness, Mali’s Ministry of Security and Civil Protection recently equipped its national security forces with twenty new vehicles and machinery. This substantial logistical enhancement was entirely financed through the national budget. The official handover ceremony, held on Friday, July 31, 2026, was overseen by Divisional General Daoud Aly Mohammedine. The comprehensive fleet includes six 60-seater buses, a specialized recovery vehicle, two 20,000-liter Spiros trucks, eight 4,000-liter fire tankers, and three powerful 50,000-liter fire engine tank trucks. These vital assets have been strategically distributed among key security branches: the National Police, Civil Protection, National Gendarmerie, National Guard, and the Staff College of Security Forces.
General Mohammedine underscored that these crucial acquisitions reflect the firm commitment of the President of the Transition, General Assimi, to fortify the operational capabilities of Mali’s Armed and Security Forces. This initiative aims to cultivate a secure environment that aligns with the expectations of the Malian populace. He further emphasized the indispensable role of robust and adaptable logistics in significantly enhancing the mobility and responsiveness of security forces when confronting various threats, a cornerstone of effective governance Africa.
Brigadier General Boucary Kodio, the esteemed Director General of Civil Protection, affirmed the beneficiaries’ unwavering dedication to managing these new resources with utmost responsibility and professionalism.
