Libya launches major border security sweep near Chad frontier

The Libyan military has launched an extensive border security operation across the southern desert, extending from Sebha and Umm al-Aranib through key towns such as Qatrun, Dahaan Murzuq, and Tajarhi, all the way to the Chad border. Colonel Ahmed Abu Qila, head of desert patrols in the region, confirmed the initiative, emphasizing its dual purpose: reinforcing border defense and tackling irregular migration.
