Gabon’s ‘b2’ inaugurates modern annex to bolster national security

On Thursday, August 13, 2026, President Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema presided over the official opening of the new annex building for the Directorate General of Counter-Intelligence and Military Security (DGCISM), widely recognized as the « B2 ». This architecturally significant structure, located in the Bellevue 1 district of Libreville’s 3rd arrondissement, signifies a pivotal moment in optimizing Gabon’s intelligence and state security services.

The commissioning of this facility is an integral part of a broader governmental initiative aimed at equipping public administrations with high-performance operational tools. Spanning three levels and covering a total area of 900 square meters, the new edifice was meticulously designed to meet the rigorous strategic demands of confidentiality and security, crucial for robust governance Africa.

The internal layout reflects a concerted effort to streamline inter-departmental coordination. The ground floor houses the Judicial Investigations Directorate; the first floor is dedicated to the Military Security Directorate, and the second floor is reserved for the General Directorate, ensuring efficient operations within this key institution for Gabon national security.

Addressing an assembly of civil and military dignitaries, the Director General of the DGCISM, Colonel Joseph Ondo Be, conveyed the profound gratitude of his personnel to the head of state.
