Abidjan, June 20, 2026 – Dr. Edouard Fonh-Gbéi, the esteemed Director General of the National Committee for Remote Sensing and Geographic Information (CNTIG), received a prestigious distinction on Thursday, June 18, 2026, in Abidjan. This accolade was presented during the annual Soirée des Bâtisseurs de l’économie africaine, an event recognizing leaders contributing significantly to the continent’s progress. Dr. Fonh-Gbéi humbly dedicated this honor to his dedicated team, viewing it as a powerful impetus to pursue future endeavors with even greater ambition and impact.

Holding a doctorate in civil engineering with a specialization in satellite geodesy, he brings over two decades of extensive international experience to his role. Under his astute leadership, he has strategically positioned the promotion of geoinformation technologies as a pivotal driver for the economic development of Côte d’Ivoire.
