Côte d’Ivoire seeks private investment to power 2026-2030 development plan

Prime minister calls for private sector engagement at Abidjan investor forum

The second day of Côte d’Ivoire’s National Development Plan (PND) Consultative Group for 2026-2030 kicked off on July 9, 2026, at the Sofitel Hôtel Ivoire in Abidjan, under the leadership of Prime Minister Robert Beugré Mambé. The high-profile gathering brought together over 700 investors from allied nations, signaling strong international confidence in the country’s economic trajectory.

During the opening session, the Prime Minister underscored the forum’s role in rallying private sector support to accelerate Côte d’Ivoire’s development ambitions. « This marks a pivotal moment in our consultative process, focused on mobilizing the private investments essential to turning our development vision into reality, » he stated. « We are delighted to welcome more than 700 investors who have traveled from friendly nations to participate in this initiative. »

The event drew key business leaders, entrepreneurs, and private sector representatives, all converging in Abidjan to discuss collaborative pathways toward shared growth. Prime Minister Mambé emphasized the forum’s dual purpose: fostering dialogue between government and private stakeholders while aligning on a unified development roadmap.

« Your presence here today reflects the trust you place in Côte d’Ivoire’s economic potential and growth prospects, » he told the assembled investors. « As critical partners, your contributions will be instrumental in building a more competitive, job-creating economy. The success of this vision hinges on your willingness to invest in its future. »

The Prime Minister reassured participants that Côte d’Ivoire remains one of Africa’s most dynamic economies, boasting an average annual growth rate of 6.5% over recent years and demonstrating remarkable resilience in the face of global challenges. « This is a market brimming with opportunity, » he remarked. « Today’s proceedings will spotlight priority sectors under the PND 2026-2030, including industrialization, local value addition through raw material processing, strategic infrastructure development—particularly in transport, digital technology, and logistics—and investments in human capital, innovation, and essential services that will drive productivity and inclusivity. »

He also highlighted the first day of the forum, which focused on institutional partners and the presentation of Côte d’Ivoire’s development strategy, drawing over 3,000 attendees from 49 countries, including domestic participants.

In a show of solidarity, leaders from Côte d’Ivoire’s private sector and international business communities reaffirmed their commitment to the PND’s objectives. Ahmed Cissé, President of the General Confederation of Enterprises of Côte d’Ivoire (CGECI), along with Mehdi Tazi of Morocco’s General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM) and Mohamed Gouled of the International Finance Corporation (IFC), pledged substantial financial commitments to support the plan’s implementation.
