Côte d’Ivoire secures investor backing for 2026-2030 development plan
Prime Minister Robert Beugré Mambé rallied over 700 investors in Abidjan to fuel the PND 2026-2030, the nation’s next economic growth blueprint.
The second day of the National Development Plan (PND) 2026-2030 Consultative Group convened on July 9, 2026, at the Sofitel Hôtel Ivoire in Abidjan, chaired by Prime Minister Robert Beugré Mambé. The high-profile gathering brought together business leaders, private sector representatives, and international investors to chart a shared path toward economic transformation.
« This marks a pivotal moment for our collective efforts, » Prime Minister Mambé declared. « Today’s session focuses on unlocking private investment to drive the ambitious development goals outlined in the PND. With over 700 investors from allied nations in attendance, we are witnessing a strong vote of confidence in Côte d’Ivoire’s economic future. »
The Prime Minister emphasized the gathering’s role as a vital platform for collaboration between government and private stakeholders, reinforcing a unified vision for sustainable growth. « Your presence here underscores the trust you place in Côte d’Ivoire’s economic potential and growth trajectory, » he told the audience. « Together, we will build a more competitive, job-creating economy. »
Mambé highlighted the government’s commitment to positioning the private sector as the engine of Côte d’Ivoire’s economic transformation. The nation’s proven resilience—with an average annual growth rate of 6.5% over recent years—has solidified its reputation as one of Africa’s most vibrant economies.
« This is a market on the rise, » he asserted. « Today’s discussions will accelerate investments in priority sectors outlined in the PND 2026-2030, including industrialization, local raw material processing for added value, infrastructure development—particularly in transport, digital technology, and logistics—and human capital investment. These efforts will enhance our competitiveness and attractiveness while fostering a more productive and inclusive economy. »
He noted that the first day of the Consultative Group, dedicated to institutional partners and the presentation of Côte d’Ivoire’s development strategy, had already attracted over 3,000 participants from 49 countries.
In response, industry leaders reaffirmed their commitment to the plan. Ahmed Cissé, President of the General Confederation of Ivorian Enterprises (CGECI), Mehdi Tazi, President of the Africa Committee of France’s MEDEF, and Mohamed Gouled, Vice President of the International Finance Corporation (IFC), expressed their readiness to contribute through significant financial commitments, reinforcing their confidence in the Ivorian government’s strategic vision.
