Côte d’Ivoire independence day: former MP Méambly Tié Évariste reflects on new chapter

As Côte d’Ivoire celebrates its 66th Independence Day, former lawmaker Méambly Tié Évariste has shared a heartfelt message with his fellow citizens, marking both a personal and political transition. Addressing particularly the communities of Cavally, Guémon, and Tonkpi, he emphasized that national service extends far beyond political office, calling on experience, knowledge, and dedication to drive the nation’s progress.

From political office to academic pursuit and entrepreneurship

Méambly Tié Évariste, who previously served as a Member of Parliament for a decade, as the first President of the Guémon Regional Council, and as leader of the parliamentary group Agir pour le Peuple, reflected on how these roles shaped his commitment to public service. He expressed his deep gratitude to the Ivorian people for entrusting him with these responsibilities and inspiring him to prioritize the common good.

After years of dedicated political service, he has shifted focus toward higher education and entrepreneurship. Over the past seven years, he pursued advanced studies while balancing professional commitments. He earned a Master’s in Management of Organizations in Tunisia, followed by a Master’s in Public Policy from Sciences Po Paris—specializing in Africa’s potential. Now, he is finalizing a PhD in Management Sciences, with his defense scheduled for October 2026.

Sharing knowledge and ideas through writing

Alongside his academic journey, Méambly Tié Évariste has contributed to public discourse through three published books. His first work, Vaincre ou l’art de transformer l’adversité en engagement, explores resilience and perseverance, while the second, Partenariat public-privé et financement des infrastructures routières en milieu rural : le modèle DBFOM à l’épreuve de la décentralisation inachevée en Côte d’Ivoire, analyzes innovative financing models for infrastructure development. A third book, set for release in October 2026, will focus on entrepreneurship, real estate, and economic growth.

Building a future beyond politics

Since 2012, Méambly Tié Évariste has expanded his professional activities beyond Côte d’Ivoire, and since 2020, he has based himself in France to grow his business ventures and international partnerships. With his doctorate on the horizon, he now intends to dedicate his energy to economic development, job creation, investment in key projects, and strengthening Africa’s global partnerships.

He announced his decision to step away from partisan politics while reaffirming his unwavering support for peace, national cohesion, education, innovation, and youth empowerment. His message carries a tone of gratitude toward the people of Cavally, Guémon, and Tonkpi, whose trust has shaped his journey.

A vision for Côte d’Ivoire’s future

In his Independence Day address, Méambly Tié Évariste called on all Ivorians to preserve the values that strengthen the nation: unity, hard work, solidarity, and brotherhood. He concluded with a hopeful wish for a united, prosperous, and forward-looking Côte d’Ivoire.
