The high-level gathering brought together government officials, UN agency representatives, technical and financial partners, civil society leaders, and private sector stakeholders. It served as both a closing ceremony for the 2024-2026 UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF) cycle and the official kickoff for planning the next phase from 2027 to 2030.

Tahir Hamid Nguilin underscored the strength of the Tchad–UN partnership, highlighting its pivotal role in shaping the country’s future. He emphasized the alignment of this session with Tchad Connexion 2030, the national development blueprint aimed at fostering a more resilient, inclusive, and prosperous society. Key pillars include human capital development, climate resilience, transparent governance, youth employment, and women’s empowerment.
« This steering committee meeting underscores our shared resolve to harmonize global and national development efforts. By endorsing the 2026 work plans and laying the groundwork for 2027-2030, we reaffirm our commitment to inclusive growth that leaves no one behind, » Nguilin stated.

Dr François Batalingaya, UN Resident Coordinator in Tchad, echoed this sentiment, noting that the 2024-2026 cycle’s outcomes validate the effectiveness of joint action. « As we wrap up this phase, our focus shifts to the future. The next UNSDCF cycle must embody a renewed ambition to meet Tchad’s evolving financing needs and the aspirations of its people, » he remarked.
The discussions centered on key lessons from the current cycle and strategic priorities for 2027-2030, including development financing, social inclusion, and resilience. The upcoming framework will be fully aligned with the objectives of Tchad Connexion 2030.
