The Chadian government is ramping up its efforts to tackle human trafficking, with a particular emphasis on safeguarding women and children. New circulars have been dispatched to security and judicial officials, reinforcing the urgency of this crackdown and outlining mandatory enforcement actions.

Human trafficking remains a severe breach of human rights, frequently involving sexual exploitation and forced labor. Chad, a signatory to the United Nations Convention against Transnational Organized Crime since 2009, has enacted critical legislation to combat this scourge, including Ordinance Nº006/PR/2018 and Law Nº12/PR/2018.

Officials are now required to expedite investigations, compile detailed reports, and forward cases to appropriate courts without delay. All documented incidents must be reported to the General Secretariat of the Ministry of Justice and the National Commission Against Human Trafficking for rigorous monitoring and follow-up.

Provincial delegates have been tasked with ensuring strict compliance with these directives. The overarching goal is to establish a comprehensive national database to inform and strengthen anti-trafficking policies across Chad.
