Chad dismantles illegal slaughterhouse in Farik Aguek, Abéché

Under the coordination of the mayor of Abéché, the administration of the 1st arrondissement conducted a raid on Thursday to dismantle a clandestine slaughterhouse in the Farik Aguek neighbourhood, as part of efforts to strengthen public hygiene and food safety.

Led by Hissein Hassan Tabit, assistant to the delegated administrator, the operation put an end to illegal slaughtering activities carried out outside sanitary and regulatory standards. Several heads of livestock were discovered on the site during the raid.

District authorities reminded that animal slaughter must only take place in approved facilities to ensure the wholesomeness of meat for consumption. They also announced that inspection operations will continue to combat any practices that endanger public health.

Through this action, the commune of Abéché reaffirms its determination to enforce hygiene rules, protect consumers, and promote a healthy environment for all.
