Cameroun national assembly: over 20 top officials installed by andré noël essian

At the National Assembly of Cameroun, Secretary-General André Noël Essian has officially installed more than 20 high-ranking officials appointed by President Théodore Datouo.

Following the opening of the second ordinary session of the 2026 legislative year, Secretary-General André Noël Essian presided over the installation ceremony for over 20 senior officials nominated by President Théodore Datouo.

These senior executives were promoted within the services of the questure and the secretariat general of the National Assembly. With this ceremony, they formally assume their duties within the representative body of the nation.

Since his election in March as President of the National Assembly, Deputy Théodore Datouo has made numerous appointments. However, these appointments have not been universally welcomed by public opinion. The successor to Cavaye Yeguié Djibril is criticised for failing to take regional balance into account.
