Both teams score in champions league final after eight-year dry spell
Both teams score in Champions League final, a rarity unseen in eight years
Ousmane Dembélé’s late equalizer for Paris Saint-Germain against Arsenal (1-1, 65th minute) marked the end of an eight-year streak in the Champions League final.
The 65th-minute strike by Dembélé, converted from a penalty won by Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, shattered a longstanding pattern. For nearly a decade, Champions League finals had seen at least one team fail to find the back of the net at least once.
The last time both finalists scored was in 2018, when Real Madrid defeated Liverpool 3-1. Prior to that, a similar eight-year stretch without both teams scoring occurred between 1988 and 1996.
