The President of Chad, Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno, delivered a resolute message from the heart of N’Djamena: “The fight against terrorism must continue with renewed vigor until this scourge is completely eradicated.” This bold statement followed the violent assault carried out by a faction of the Boko Haram militant group on the Barka Tolorom military base, situated on Chad’s Lake Chad shoreline, resulting in the tragic loss of 24 Chadian soldiers.
