Aïssata Tall Sall’s fiery speech at Taxawu Sénégal congress ignites opposition momentum
During the inaugural congress of the political party Taxawu Sénégal, led by Khalifa Sall, former minister Aïssata Tall Sall delivered a powerful political address. Her remarks were both a sharp critique of the current administration and a rallying cry for opposition unity and strategic action.
Addressing the ruling power directly, she questioned its legitimacy with pointed remarks: « These individuals declared, ‘You are not the power.’ From the outset, it’s clear they lack the moral and legal standing of true leadership. »
Aïssata Tall Sall underscored the critical importance of political determination and strategic organization. « Stand tall, always maintain your dignity, » she urged. « Courage is essential—and you possess it. Intelligence is essential—and you embody it. But most of all, strategy is what will secure victory for Sénégal. »
She went on to emphasize upcoming electoral milestones, vowing a gradual but decisive show of strength by the opposition. « When the time comes—after local elections, after legislative polls—we will demonstrate our power. And when the presidential election arrives, we will demonstrate it again. »
In closing, she delivered an uplifting message to the assembled activists: « I wish you all the best, send you my prayers, and affirm that you stand in the right place, alongside your comrades. We stand with you, united in our mission to reclaim this power. »
